Default Voxalot VoIP service stopping on 31st Dec

Hi,

Is it true that Voxalot is going to close after 31st Dec?

I received the email too, unfortunately Voxalot will be gone. Too bad, I liked the service and was pretty happy overall, their dial plans are the best.
So what is the alternative, who offers a similar service ?

Dear Voxalot User,

We are sorry to inform you that due to the rising cost of operations, we
have been forced to discontinue the Voxalot VoIP service. This change
will be effective from December 31st, 2011.

If you have renewed your subscription since September 1st 2011 and would
like a refund, please contact payments@voxalot.com. Unfortunately,
payments for subscriptions older than this are unable to be refunded.
Please be aware that a refund will reverse your payment and cause your
account to be downgraded to a Basic account.

We thank you for your support for Voxalot, and are sorry for any
inconvenience that this announcement will cause, and wish you the best in
the future.

Regards,
Voxalot Support

I hear that SipSorcery dialplans are not user friendly, but then again, we don't really have an other alternative.

I still can't believe being without VoXalot one day!
Meanwhile, thinking about possible alternatives:

Libera Il Voip
LIV is my favourite, right behind VoXalot.
If you speak Italian, I think it's very easy to set up everything. But even if you don't speak Italian, you get around pretty well.
Besides a main number, you get 5 extensions.
It's possible to register VSP's, set up call back etc.
If you wish to sign up, you'll need a codice fiscale..

See also the LIV FAQ-page.

I was wary too, but I took advantage of their migration scheme that they are offering Voxalot members. Aaron built a dial plan for me based on my exported Voxalot settings. It works pretty well too. I had a couple of small queries (because of my lack of understanding of the syntax) and he was very quick to respond and offer constructive suggestions.

Now I have a template to play with. Having the basics set up for you certainly makes a nice introduction to their dial plans.

My problem is I use Betamax clones a lot and depending on which one offers the best rates to certain destinations I adjust the dial plans accordingly. Basically I don't have a fixed dial plan, I always adjust it and with Voxalot it's been easy. Right now I can just move my dial plans from Voxalot to SipSorcery, but once Voxalot is gone, like it or not, I have to do it the SipSorcery's way since we won't have Voxalot for fallback.

I'm a little concerned that they seem to use a Windows server rather than something in the *nix world. But otherwise they seem great and Aaron is very helpful.

I'm very happy to have made the move to SIPSorcery. Trouble is I am getting addicted to playing with the interface.
It's so much fun! Aaron responds to the forum posts every day and is very helpful as well as knowledgeable.

I will have to make the switch around Christmas when I will have some free time. How much time (days) does it take to get everything working properly (I am mostly concerned about the dial plans). Thanks.

P.S. I was hoping that someone might buy Voxalot, I guess it is not going to happen.
