Default *1800 smart call and prefixing

Hi,

I'm a noobie to this. Can someone help me with:
  1. How to set up a smart call rule that will automatically convert a dialed (NA) toll free (e.g., 1-800/1-888 etc) to *1800 etc?
  2. set up smart call rule to prepend 1604 to 7 digit numbers?

Thanks for your help,
Caleb

Default Smart call (Dial Plan) for 1800 numbers and 7 digit dialing

Go to Smart Call (Dial plan), click Add and go to Advanced mode, and enter

Pattern _1800xxxxxxx or _1800. [Note that the "." is part of the statement]
Replacement *${EXTEN}
Provider Sip Broker
Active Yes
Virtual Toll Free, Enum Look Up, Geographic Look Up set to No (You may want to experiment with these once you get the basic plan working)

Repeat the above for 1866, 1888 etc.

For the 7 digit numbers, try the following:

Pattern _Zxxxxxx
Replacement 1604${EXTEN}
Provider Voip_Service_Provider
Active Yes
Virtual Toll Free, Enum Look Up, Geographic Look Up set to No (Again experiment later)

Note: Make sure you have a way to deal with overlay area codes (Eg 778xxxxxxx in Vancouver)

After you create and save your new plans, use the test field at the bottom of the Plan list to test that the dial plan catches the patterns and returns the desired outcome.

In some cases the order of the dial plan entries is critical.

What's the benefit in making an explict route like this compared to just getting results from enum, since 18(00|66|77|88) routes are all listed in e164.org?

Thanks for pointing this out.
From looking at the Voxalot FAQ, it is not immediately obvious that ENUM Lookup set to Yes in the Dial Plan will handle 1800/866/877/888 numbers or which countries' toll free numbers are accessible.

Probably an update about this in the Voxalot FAQ/Wiki would be the quite helpful.

There is quiet a few (not sure how many currently off hand) toll free ranges for various countries, the above only covers the US, enum covers a lot more.
