Default VoXaLot Release Notes - 20070227

VoXaLot Release Notes - 20070227
================================

New Features
============

- A default dial plan entry is now created when the very first provider is added. This dial plan entry is given a priority of 999, and can be changed or deleted at any time.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

- Provider details page now has an optional change password section on the page. This change now eliminates the need to constantly re-enter provider passwords when updates are made.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

- New Call Forwarding engine. This new engine is a complete replacement of the old one, so any call forwarding entries that members previously had, will need to be re-entered. The new call forwarding engine allows calls to be forwarded to voicemail, a SIP URI or a fixed line/mobile phone via your registered providers and dial plan.

Forwarding rules can also be defined based on the inbound caller ID (CID) and/or time of the day.

Note: The time of day is based on the timezone setting on the member details page.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

- The speed dial feature has been enhanced to allow members to setup speed dial entries for SIP URIs and fixed line/mobile numbers via your registered providers and dial plan.

Note: Speed dial entries are accessed by dialling **<speed dial number>.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

- A new VoXCallMe feature is now available to members. This feature allows you, as a member, to easily embed a few lines of HTML code on your websites, and VoXaLot will invoke callback functionality whenever a customer clicks on the VoXCallMe link.

The member's dial plan is used to callback the entered number (SIP Broker dialling is also supported), and a 2nd call leg is then bridged to the member's VoXaLot account. Optionally members can setup call forwarding rules to have the 2nd leg of the call forwarded to any SIP URI and/or fixed line/mobile phone.

Note: Members are required to enable this feature on the member details page.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Fixes
====

- Leading + (plus sign) is now allowed in dial plan patterns.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

- Leading and trailing spaces are now trimmed on many of the critical telephony fields.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

- Fixed a spiraled call problem. See http://forum.voxalot.com/showthread....ghlight=spiral

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Has the new call forwarding interface been already completed or not? I do not see "From pattren field". There is only "Inbound CID Pattern" and if I put a sip aaddress there, I get an error message: "The pattern is invalid."

Yes it has. The inbound CID pattern does not take a URI it takes a pattern similar to the one on dial plan entries.

Could Voxalot team make in future callforwarding function for providers also ? Meaning, if i have 2 providers on my registered account and want to forward all the calls to my cellphone and the other provider calls goes to my brothers cellphone ? That i use only one account instead of opening two voxalot account.

Many thanks Martin for new features...
I'm interested also to new Web CallBack:
The "first number" is ok, but "Number to Dial" empty...
... a first call starting to the first number, I answer and insert at this time the number to dial via DTMF.

Is possible?

Best regards,
Elia Finotti

Default Days of the week in call forward

Hi people,

Many thanks for the feature. It is awsome. But I started using it and missed the possbility of configuring the days of the week I want a forward to happen. My scenario is tha during week days I work in the University, but on weekends at home. If I configure my VOIP numbers to forward to my desk number, it should happen just in weekdays
I think that this is not a very difficult thing to add....

Default Call me functionality

I can't get the callme functionality working. The 1st leg works OK but the second leg to my Voxalot account fails and the call then ends. My ATA shows it as being registered OK, so I was wondering if it was to do with the Voxalot proxy I am using (eu).

By the way it would be very useful to restrict the possible numbers that can be called. At the moment there is nothing stopping someone entering a premium rate number in the box. You may also want only selected people to be called. I am sure there must be way of parsing the number (e.g. through PHP and SQL) before passing onto the JavaScript function, but I am only taking my first steps in these languages.

Default Call Forwarding

Thanks Martin. You've made some more really great improvements. I have a couple of suggestions for your consideration to further enhance the call forwarding:-

1. Add an exclude list/range of incoming numbers that never get forwarded.

2. Add a new *XXX dial code to make it possible to use the phone to trigger the rules on or off. E.g. *550 <enter pin> <enter forward rule number> <enter 1 to activate or 0 to deactivate or 2 to hear current status> <rule # is on/off> <enter * for another rule or # to exit>

Finally, I'm not sure how to deal with incoming calls that carry no CLID. Am I correct in assuming that leaving the optional incoming CLID field blank will forward all calls?

Hi Martin,

Thank you for your continued improvements to the VoXaLot service. I have a suggestion for the new call forwarding rules: would it be possible to add a configurable "ringing duration" or delay before a forwarding rule is used?

That would be a killer feature for me, to implement a forward to a mobile phone if the "normal" line isn't answered after a few rings.

My work phone has this option and I use it all the time (since I walk around a lot ;-))
