Req For Port 80 & 443
Hi Martin,
Congratulation for successful launching of the premium service. As a premium and loyal users, usage of voxalot is night mare during traveling. As most of the hotels and Hotspot and some part of world have blocked ports excepts 80 and 443. I request to consider at your earliest to provide support for the above ports (80 & 443). this issue is very hot and high in demand. Please consider so Voxalot can be used with more users and will give edge at your rival. |

So you can't check email? Or send email? A restriction to just 80 and 443 doesn't really offer much of a service. It's a long shot, but perhaps you could create a tunnel and communicate securely through that -- you would need an ssh server that you could connect to in order to establish the tunnel; if this doesn't make any sense to you, then don't think anything more about it or seek the services of an IT professional to help you here (probably as a paid consulting service).

I can check e-mail and surf, but I stated that only ports work in hotel and some hotspots are 80 & 443.
For voxalot to work you need ports 5060,4060,3060 & 2060 which are totally blocked. That is why requesting to let Voxalot work on port 80 & 443 which are at all the time remain open. Last edited by richard99; 08-07-2007 at 05:51 AM. |

I must honestly say that Richard has got a point. Some (not all) public hotspots only allow traffic on common ports, such as 80, 110, 443.
When I was in France 2 weeks ago, I was using a public hotspot which was also blocking access to several ports. It would indeed be very handy when Voxalot allows users to access the SIP server on port 80, but in my opinion it's not necessary. |
