Default noob Q -incoming calls

Hi,
Sorry if this is a stupid question.

I got this about Voxalot features from somewhere on the site (cant find it again, lol),
found it here,

- Access to DID (Direct Inward Dial) PSTN phone numbers: Members can assign one or more of these to their Internet telephone numbers, enabling them to receive incoming calls from any PSTN phone as well as VoIP phones.

Does Voxalot provide DIDs?
If not, how does one "assign one of these" to Voxalot?

thanks matt

Voxalot does not provide DIDs.
Voxalot provides the SIP voice over IP account to which you can terminate the DID number so as to receive calls initiated on a public telephone network.

You can get a free DID from some providers, like for example ;
FREE IP Calling with IPKall
uknumber.co.uk - Giving you a free UK phone number - wherever you are in the world!

If you want to get a number in a specific country or city, you may have to purchase the use of the number from a DID provider, like for example:
Callcentric - VoIP Internet phone service
DID World Wide, International DIDs forwarded to PSTN and VoIP by SIP, IAX, H323, Skype, Gtalk, MSN Messenger. Origination services, SIP DIDs
did.voip.les.net VoIP DID
Voice Network Inc.

When you get your DID, you have to point it to your voxalot 6 digit (xxxxxx) account number specified to your DID provider in the format of :
sip:xxxxxx@voxalot.com or xxxxxx@voxalot.com
depending on the format preferred by the DID provider.
