But why not? It would be the most reliable solution as ISPs never block port 80. This is exactly why VoIP provider Vbuzzer uses port 80.
There is a common misconception that using port 80 for SIP will interfere/conflict with HTTP (web) servers. It simply not true. Quote:

Voxalot port
I think it is very good idea to have alternate non-standard ports. It will help for users in middle east and sub-continet where port 5060 is either closed or monitored.

yup, having an alternate port is an excellent idea (and a very obvious one). i am all for having another port open so that a person in my position (i live in india) can connect to sip providers with a little more ease.
so admins when can we expect something ?? |

Hi Martin,
Any update or plan when you are going to add ports redirector for, 4060 3060 2060 New twsit, some airports also blocking ports 5060 in free Wi-Fi servcies in lounges. So it is needed badly. Thanks |

We will probably make the change on one server initially. Is it the EU server that is of particular interest to members.

Ports 4060, 3060, 2060 are now able on eu.voxalot.com
If tests prove successful on EU we will do a complete rollout to the other environments. Please let us know your findings. Edit: We are now also re-directing port 80

Martin,
Thank you very much for providing ports 4060, 3060, 2060. I am currently using port 2060. It is very quick & reponsive in registration. The good part I am in the area where port 5060 was completly closed and now I am using Sipura 3k without any problem. I will test other 2s and will post. |

Thanks Richard. We have now applied the port mappings to all servers. Please let us know if there are any problems.
