Default SSL issue

When I try to register for an account using Firefox 3.0.4 is gets a security error and warns me not to:

Error code:
Secure Connection Failed

voxalot.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is only valid for *.voxalot.com

(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)

* This could be a problem with the server's configuration, or it could be someone trying to impersonate the server.

* If you have connected to this server successfully in the past, the error may be temporary, and you can try again later.

You should be able to get around that (if you want to trust the Voxalot server) by specifying an exception in Firefox 3.0x

Go to the Menu : Tools \ Options \ Advanced \ View_Certificates \ Servers \ Add-Exception

Paste the server address that you get when you get the error on, click on "Get Certificate" and then Log the exception.

You may want to disable this after you register for your Voxalot Account(s) to remove this security risk.

I think the problem is that probably used the following url:

https://voxalot.com

instead of:

https://www.voxalot.com

Our SSL certificate is registered with *.voxalot.com (as you can see from the error message that Firefox gives), which doesn't match the https://voxalot.com url.

I have been thinking about redirecting https://voxalot.com users to https://www.voxalot.com for a while now, but just haven't had a chance to test it properly.

That works! I'm lazy and can't remember the last time I actually typed "www" for any site...but in this case that fixed the problem. I had gone to "voxalot.com" and clicked register before...tried your solution and now i'm a member.

I get a certificate warning in Internet Explorer. Normally i use FF but I have too many saved tabs open at the moment.

Why not just go out and buy a cheap SSL to fix it?
