I was not able to register to voxalot.com at all. In fact I had to use the IP address of Voxalot.com.AU to register to it.

This is not however the first VoxaLot account I have not been able to get inbounds on!

No audio or one-way audio is nearly always down to a NAT traversal issue. There doesn't seem to be a 'one solution fits all' approach either (apart from not using a NAT router, which isn't practical). You should try a combination of settings of STUN/port forwarding etc. Don't forget after each change, you should reboot the VoIP device to ensure it re-registers with the server.

Personally, I use Sipgate for my inbound DID and have very few problems; occasionally on a PSTN to Voxalot call (Sipgate as a registered provider), the calling party hears ringing once or twice and then gets Voxalot voicemail; the called party just keeps ringing. I've not had time to dig deeper in to the cause of this.

I also use a re-flashed Linksys WRT54GS wireless router that has a Sipath (SIP at Home web interface for the SIP Express Router) module loaded. The firmware is freely available at www.dd-wrt.com. This is very good at overcoming any NAT traversal issues as the router acts as the SIP proxy and controls the mapping of WAN IP address/ports to LAN IP address/port. If anyone has compatible hardware then I'd recommend they give it a try (DISCLAIMER: you will need to re-flash your router - there is always a chance that you will kill it. BE AWARE. Having said that, if you follow the instructions then you shouldn't have a problem )

I have been changing all configs, stun, port forearding etc since the formation of Voxalot and still sometimes the audio is one way - will put it all down to the development of Voxalot but it gets frustrating when the wife complains - you know the story - anyway things are not stable for me at all - bill

People that were having audio problems on voxalot.com.au should now try again since the latest change.

The issue was that the oz server has a number of different IP addresses and if a call (RTP) came from any other IP address other than that associated with voxalot.com.au it in some cases led to audio issues.

Now Bill, if you are still having problems please PM me your details and the exact nature of your problem and we will take a look.

Default Inbound voxalot

Hi Martin can you help?

Using Billion 7402VGO Router toregister Voxalot which is in turn registered to voxee and sipgate. Dial plan (x.T|[x*]x.T|[x*][x*]x.T)

Sipgate requires listening port 5004 - RTP range is 5002-5036 - if that matters.

When I call sipbroker PSTN 02071006747 and key *010'VoxalotID' or *01144'VoxalotID' both report 'voxalotID' no is offline, and route to voicemail. *350'voxalotID' similarly reports 'voxalotID' is not available.

If I call *211'SipgateID' the call is received.

Outbound points all calls to voxee and works fine.
All these test calls work
500, 600, *350155, *350152, *393613

I have recently turned off DOS Intrusion defence, which was giving large nos of 'Land Attack' messages. Is this related, given your advice above? If so, what would be the appropriaie firewall rule to permit them if DOS prevention were to be turned on for non voxalot sourced events?

What listening ports range does voxalot handle?

I would be most grateful for help to overcome my last bug in use of voxalot. I see as a very exciting and promising development - Congratulations.

Hi,

If I understand your setup correctly you have:

Code:
ATA<------>voxalot.com<-----|-----> sipgate
                            |-----> voxee
And when you call your sipgate number via SIP Broker it rings your ATA (through VoXaLot)

Yes?

Also can you PM your 6 digit voxalot number to me please. Thanks

Yes?

Yes it does both via sipbroker and local Dial in no

VoxalotID sent as requested.

Many thanks

PS I have registered the router IP address with dyndns.org if relevant, because the router can accept did - although currently this all disabled on the router and call forward is virgin.

Default Voxalot incoming problem

Hi Martin

Thanks for verifying that from your end the router ATA port rings both by dialling the direct voxalotID and its sipbroker equivalent. Proof indeed that voxalot and sipbroker are fine.

I have just repeated the PSTN test to the London number via mobile phone, with exactly the same rejection as prior. When connected, I am dialling *010voxalotID#. Is the fault experienced specfic to dialling via that number, and can it be identified for a fix?

Progress indeed.

Many thanks

Default PSTN dialling in London

Further,
The same rejection happens when dialling 056-0002-9247, the alternative London provider
