Default ENUM promotion

What is being done to bring more users to the enum e164 network?

Perhaps there could be guide included with the asterisk distribution and an easy setup option for gui interfaces like freepbx trixbox?

The value of the network only increases with further promotion and cooperation of users who can terminate calls not just originate them.

Thank you

I believe that Trixbox has support for inbound only trunks, such as IPKall. Inbound ENUM trunks are programmed in exactly the same manner. You assign an ID number for the trunk and assign that same number to your E.164 registration. Am I missing something in what you are asking?

Personally, I hand code extensions.conf, so adding my E.164 numbers to [in-sip] was straightforward and painless.

This wasnt so much about the promotion of the numbering service e164.org service offers but the enum lookup of psnt numbers for outbound calling.

Freepbx has a one click install for enum.

Trixbox seems to have reinveted the wheel with their own verzion of enum but within the trixbox realm only and doesnt offer real interoperability.

From what has been written about trixnet I'd have to agree, it looks almost identical to e164.org, but with integration into their software. It's a pity they don't then upload that information to e164.org via the http API.

Perhaps they think it will increase their software value even though it is a concept that is already beingused.

Creating more islands is not going to help.
