Default LES.NET - incoming working, can't dialout.

I'm a newbie to all the voip stuff... However i've truged through getting things working. I can recieve calls fine via my private DID, but am unable to make any outbound calls.

*600 (echo test) works fine.

Dialplan is:

_xxxx. ${exten} les.net
active: yes,
Virtual Tollfree enabled: yes
enum: Yes (also tried no, but no difference)

From browsing the forums i gathered I had to setup LES.NET as a VSP (?)

Username: (peername)
codecs: g729;g723;g726;ilbc;gsm;ulaw;alaw (left this alone)
Host: did.voip.les.net
port: 5060

and I set a provider password on the les.net page which I put the exact same one on this page.

I am in the 613 area code (North america) if that helps any insofar as setting up an appropriate dialplan?
(using x-lite software config'd for Voxalot)

I would make these changes:

_xxxx. ${exten} les.net
active: yes
Virtual Tollfree enabled: No (at least for now)
enum: No (at least till you get things wortking)

Username: (peername)
codecs: ulaw;alaw;g729;g726;ilbc;gsm
Host: did.voip.les.net
port: 5060

Finally try entering a # at the end after dialing the number you wish to call...

The next thing I would try, is to setup Les.net directly with the SoftPhone just to see that those login details are working separately from VoXalot)

What is happening when you dial, is the call taking to long, is it giving an error, or something else....?

Finally, I'd suggest giving a try to Zoiper, another SoftPhone (at least in my opinion it is a bit easier to change things around)....

However I doubt your problem right now has anything to do with the SoftPhone you are using though:
1. Either Les.net uses a different Host for outgoing calls, than for incoming DIDs
2. Maybe they prefer that you dial with 1 in front

....knowing a little bit more what happens when you try to call would help

Tried the above changes; X-lite says: Call failed forbidden
(leading me to think it sounds like an authentication issue)

"the person you are calling is unavailble, please try again"

zoiper says: DEBUG | 20080529-180033.968 | Zoiper for Windows | RESIP:APP | 628 | call_manager.cpp:1577 | Failed registration for '**********@voip.les.net' with cause 'no route to destination'

Edit: now can't dial out to toll-free numbers for some reason. <sigh>

Is it voip.les.net or did.voip.les.net....

BTW, did you have Zoiper registered directly to Les.net....

If you are having problems even directly (without VoXalot in the middle), try to get in touch with les.net (try asking what login details you need to use for outgoing calls)

To set up les.net as a vsp, you have to login into your les.net account and set up a peer first.
Instructions how to do this should be on the website.

I suspect that the peer setup in your les.net account is not correct.
You have to specify if you are going to use 7 or 10 digit dialling, etc.

If you still have issues, post again, and I'll capture a screen dump from my set-up.

OK, After playing around with it some more I finally got it working.

http://les.net/lesnet_xlite.pdf was using a version of X-Lite i didn't understand. and all the settings written in there, didn't need to be used anyway. LOL.

Turns out on les.net side:

peertype: URI (had that)
peeraddress: xxxxxx@yy.voxalot.com
password: leave blank
^^^^^^^^^^ was the problem lol
