Call forwarding issue
I have Gotalk registered to voxalot.
When I set up a call forward to my mobile through voxalot, I get no audio whatsoever. The caller doesn't hear ringing on their end and when I pick up the call, there is no audio either way. Am I missing something here? If I register my ata direct to gotalk and call forward it is fine. |

Is the Call Forward at least happening (is your phone ringing at least)?
I would suggest adjusting your codecs to this: ulaw;alaw;g726;g729;ilbc;gsm I would also go through this (test actual calls not just forwarding): HowTo: 6 Steps To Optimize Your Audio - Voxalot FAQ Last edited by emoci; 11-08-2008 at 01:07 AM. |

Yes, my cell does ring and I can answer the call but can't hear the other party and they can't hear me either.
The suggested codecs from gotalk are: Codec order g729 > g723 (6.4Kb) > g711a I have set just g729 in the my gotalk settings in voxalot, should I be setting any others? Actual calls work fine 100% of the time and I have been through the optimise audio steps. |

2. Since normal outgoing calls work fine, a question: Is Optimize Audio currently set to Yes by any chance? If it is set to Yes, set it back to No (this may mess with normal outgoing calls, but just quickly test to see if Call Forwarding improves) If this is the case you may want to create two entries for GoTalk (one with Optimize Audio set to Yes and used for outgong calls, and a second with Optimize Audio set to No and used for Call Forwarding) |

I tried all as suggested but still the same result. I tried both with optimise audio & without.....
I really want to get this working before I go overseas so callers can still get to me. Is there anything voxalot can do to assist, considering I am paying for a service that isn't quite working? BTW thanks for your help so far emoci! |

2. Have you tried to forward the call to another destination (not via GoTalk e.g. a SIP URI etc) More details about the failed scenario would really help. Thanks

The source of the call is either via mobile or a non-voip & voip landline number. |

From further investigation it seems that this is the situation.
- if the inbound provider & the outbound provider are the same (i.e. Gotalk to Gotalk) then I get the behaviour as described before - if the inbound provider & the outbound provider are different (i.e. Gotalk to Pennytel) then the forwarding works as it should Would this then be an issue with the VSP or with the way Voxalot handles forwarding? |

It seems like Gotalk does not allow an incoming call and an outgoing call at the same time on their service. This also suggests that the problem is VSP related not a Voxalot issue.
Martin's comment above seems quite spot on : Quote:
Or, if you do not need the conditional forwarding features in Voxalot, you may be able to unconditionally forward Gotalk calls directly to your mobile. |
