In fact the registrar will usually store the IP address. For publically used URI's, members can use either sip:xxxxxx@voxalot.com, sip:xxxxxx@us.voxalot.com, sip:xxxxxx@eu.voxalot.com or sip:xxxxxx@au.voxalot.com as the system has the smarts to "find" the destination. The only value that is consistently the same across all proxies is the REALM/DOMAIN which is always voxalot.com Hope that clarifies things a bit better. .
