2 Phone rininging together SIP and non SIP?
Hi,
I have an incoming number with Voipfone which I would like to ring on both my Siemens SIP handset 24 hours a day and my mobile (through a betamax forward) at certain times of the day. How can I set this up? I assume I should register the Handset with Voxalot, register Voipfone on Voxalot and there I get a little confused. I set up a timed forward but that seems to take over, so the Siemens handset wont ring. Thanks Paul |

How exactly do you intend to use a Betamax forward for a Voipfone DID?
Also, you might like to bear in mind that there is (or at least used to be) a problem with registering Voipfone on Voxalot because Voipfone's registration expiry is set to 60 seconds. Voxalot uses 3600 seconds, which means that any registration soon fails. A way round that is to set your Voipfone DID to forward to Voxalot instead. Use the code *1*031<your Voxalot id>, assuming you're in Europe. Otherwise use *010 or *061 of course. (The *1 part is the access code from Voipfone towards Sipbroker). |

I wasn't aware of the timeout issue, that explains a lot.
I think I jumped the gun when I signed up for Voxalot, I thought it would do a lot for me and it doesn't seem to be able to deliver as I expected. I expected Voxalot to register my Voipfone account and forward my calls to my mobile via betamax and to my SIP handset, but maybe it cant do this. ho hum, maybe time to request a refund! Paul |

Well, you don't need to have Voipfone registered on Voxalot to achieve the forwarding. So long as Voxalot can handle the incoming call (via forwarding as I suggested earlier) it can forward it on.
It's the simultaneous ringing on your Siemens handset that's more problematic. In effect you would need to have Voipfone registered in 2 different places. If you had a mobile with a SIP client, you could register Voxalot on both that and on your Siemens handset. That might work. |
