I believe simple redirection of the external 4060/3060/2060
ports at the SIP proxy's firewall to the internal 5060 port
does not work. This is why there have been posts from
members about not being able to receive calls when they
are registered to a port other than 5060.

The SIP proxy should actually listen on those ports for
it to know that the incoming traffic actually came on
a specific port.
I understand what you're saying.

Some solutions:

A. VoXaLot makes some modifications to "actually listen on those ports", and use those ports when sending SIP messages.

or

B. You, somehow, intercept your outbound packets bound for port 5060, and change the destination port to 4060 (I can't think of an easy way of doing this).

or

C. You, somehow, intercept the inbound packet from us.voxalot.com, and manually insert the ":4060" in the "Via" and/or "Record-Route:" header. This will cause your ATA to send the reply to us.voxalot.com:4060.

(You could do that in a similar way to how I'm touching up my VSP's improperly-formatted INVITE messages on the fly:
http://forum.voxalot.com/voxalot-sup...dial-ip-3.html )

or

D. Use a VPN, or some other method to relay your packets around the port 5060 block.

or

E. Use IAX to access a service which will connect to/from SIP.

Default Port 80 and 443

Martin,

What about port 80 & 443, we all are still waiting to hear from you regarding the plan to introduce these ports.

Default

I was able to get around my ISPs port block only after changing both the 'SIP Port' & 'EXT Port' as well as the SIP Proxy.

like this:
Mapped Port: 4060
EXT Port: 4060
SIP Proxy: us.voxalot.com:4060

My SPA-3102 is now happily working on 3060 (Line 1) & 4060 (PSTN).

Thumbs up Ports 80 and 443

I also support the opening up of ports 80 and 443. My ISP initially blocked 5060 port. But through time has probably observed traffic on the other ports such as 2060, 3060 and 4060 and has blocked them too.

Now I have no way to connect to Voxalot.... ... It would be better if this feature is rolled out for usage as soon as possible.
