Question how to watch SIP headers like P-Src-Ip?

Hello there.

I would like to trace SIP calls I do thru voxalot.

I guess there is a SIP tracing tool, with I can start locally at my PC as a SIP provider and forward my calls to this proxy, so I would be able to watch all SIP headers.

There are threads where people are able to see such the headers somehow.
I mean this one for example. But I don't understand how exactly.

Could someone please share the idea? It would be much appreciated.

A simple way, try to enable the log/diagnostics option in softphones such as SJphone, X-Lite, etc.

this and other option will work well. but remember that you will only see whats happening between your phone and voxalot; you will not see what is be sent between voxalot and the VSP. for that you would need assistance from either voxalot or the VSP in the form of a log file of some sort.

That for sure does not capture the communication between Voxalot and VSP. To get a feel of what Voxalot might have been sending out, you can create a "VSP" which uses your IP as the server in the provider list, make a dial plan using this "VSP", call with X-Lite and let your SJphone sit in your computer to collect the incoming communication from Voxalot server. Anyway, I guess OP might want to take a look of the P-Src-Ip header and implement his own to get over the FUP problem. Unfortunately, it looks like P-Src-Ip has been abused and is not in effect any more except the only exemption for Voxalot.

That's it!
I need to watch the headers between VoxaLot and a SIP provider.
That's why local logging won't help much.

I found a tool, which seems to be useful, but there will be too much efforts with configuring the port forwarding to get SIP traffic routed from VoxaLot to my PC and further to a SIP provider.

Another way is to setup an account at mySIPswitch and enable tracing there. Then forward all calls thru mySIPswitch, which will result tracing.
