Default Billion 7404VGP sip reg.

Hi.

I'm having issues with the B7404VGP (latest firmware) registering with Voxalot. Sip registration expiry has been set to the default of 3600 for over two years now and has been working fine (flwlessly) till very recently - last two weeks.

Is there a new recommended sip expiry time to be used? Should I set it to 240and see if that rectifies the situation?

I re sync in the router and it works fine and shows as registered in my Voxalot account summary and when I check the next morning it shows that there are no devices actively registered.

I wonder what is causing this issue recently.

Usually, if you have static IP, the default registration time out is normally 3600 seconds. On connections with dynamic IP usually is recommended a much lesser value, for example, 120 seconds. On a connection with dynamic IP with time lease of 36 hours, I'm using 180 seconds with Voxalot. The rule is, if you are loosing registration you may try lesser time values, normally no less than 120 seconds.
Regards,

Ok, I'll try reducing it. Thanks.

I have no idea why this is an issue now when I've had 3600 set for over 2 years. My ISP has dynamic IP's and this also has not been an issue in the past.

I really wonder?

Ok, I have reduced the SIP registration from 3600 to 240 and, for now, it seems to have resolved my loss of registration. I set it to 240 last night and checked just now and Voxalot is still showing my router as registered - excellent!

I have no idea why this has become an "issue" now after nearly 2.5 years...?

I'll keep an eye on it.

Thanks.
