Default VoxCall for Facebook, Sneak Peak

On Monday 19th Nov 2007 Voxalot will be officially launching our new social communications application for Facebook called VoxCall.

VoxCall is an exciting new initiative from Voxalot that allows Facebook users to click on their friends and initiate phone calls. The beauty of VoxCall is that it is self-organising in that if your VoxCall friend changes their contact phone number, you don't even have to be notified... VoxCall will use whatever number they have registered.

VoxCall also offers both public and private chat rooms where VoxCall friends can get together for a group discussion.

The underlying technology that VoxCall uses to connect calls is Voice over IP addresses (often known as SIP URIs). When you add the VoxCall application, you will be prompted to enter your SIP URI. To ensure that you are the rightful owner of that number, VoxCall will display a PIN number on the screen and then call the number you entered. Your phone will ring and you will be prompted to enter the PIN, which is validated.

As such, VoxCall supports calls between friends that belong to *any* "open" voice network (not just Voxalot).

Try it out now by visiting VoxCall for Facebook

Default Problems verifiyng username for VoxCall on Facebook

I can not manage to get verified. When I get the Authentication Required Window "For your eyes only... at http://www2.voxalot.com", I enter my user name and password as I enter them when I log in to voxalot.com and the windows keeps on popping back again.

I suppose I need to use my voxalot credentials (still it's not 100% clear), so I've also tried using my facebook credentials and got to the same problem.

Thanks for your help.

Sorry about that.

It appears you may have been affected by DNS propagation . Please try again as I have updated the app to use the proper domain name.

It seems that there are some bugs with adding Voxcall into my facebook account now.

After entering my SIP URI(voxalot.com), I got a PIN password, but the verified call has not reached at my mobile.(i have configured connection rules in my Voxalot account to forward SIP call to my mobile).

OK!

After inactiving my Voxalot call connection rules and using my ATA&phone to input PIN password, i have added Voxcall application in my facebook successfully.

Thanks for the update. So, just to confirm... once you deactivated your call-forward and had voxcall dial your normal voxalot URI, everything worked?

Is that right? Just trying to narrow down whether the root cause of your problem was voxcall or the call-forward (or perhaps some combination of both.)

Default VoxCall and DTMF

Thanks for your help. Now I do get to the VoxCall setup and my phone actually rings and asks for my pin. The problem is that for some reason DTMF tones are not being detected (correctly) by the verification system. I should mention that I use my ATA (Sipura 3000) to call other parties normally and I can dial DTMF without problems. I can also access my VM regularly.

What is the DTMF setting you currently have on the Sipura?
