Cannot access Voxalot Voice Mail from C470IP

I have Pennytel and Gotalk registered through Voxalot, and have just replaced an MVA11A and cordless phone (with answering machine) with the C470IP (no answering machine).
I can make and receive calls through both VSPs fine.
The only issue I have is that I can't seem to retrieve my voice mails from the handset. I have switched my voice mail on from the Voxalot web site and also entered *500 into the C470. I am receiving messages both on the website and via email. The handset message indicator also flashes to show that a message is waiting. When I delete the message via the web site the flashing stops, so it appears that the phone and the voice mail system are communicating.
When I dial *500 from the handset I get the message to enter my password, I enter 9999 (I have tried changing it, but it is currently set to the default) and then get "login incorrect".
After two attempts at entering the password I either get a long silence, or get kicked out of voice mail. I know I am entering the correct password.
Any ideas?
