Default [closed] German Toll-Free Numbers: ENUM resolves to sip:49800\1@sip.pbx-network.de

Hi,

I have the following problem: All German Toll-Free Numbers (+49800xxxxxxx) seem to resolve to sip:49800\1@sip.pbx-network.de in the e164.org registry which would be great if pbx-network.de would provide termination to those numbers.

But: Unfortunately I get a 487 (Proxy authentication required) error message when trying to ring such a number. To me this means that you have to have an account with them.

Does it make sense to resolve those numbers in a public ENUM directory such as e164.org to a SIP network that apparently provides the routing only for its paying customers?

I guess not.

e164.org Admins: Can you comment on that please?

Thanks,
gambrinus
