I followed the recipe for setting up voicemail with a third party provider as outined on this page:

This is working well for us now. I recorded a personalised greeting as I think the American accent would put some people off. The voicemail is nice and clear. Rather than maintaining various voicemail boxes with different providers, all voicemail will now be handled by Callcentric. I like their website, by the way. I have read good things about this VSP as well.
