Do I need to register a PSTN number that has been ported to a VSP
I am currently using GoTalk as my primary VSP. I originally had a land line with a PSTN number allocated to me. GoTalk allow you to port that number to their VOIP service, which I have done.
My question is do I need to register with e164.org in order for people to be able to connect directly to me via Voxalot for free ? Note that I currently dont have any land lines at home just the cable broadband and GoTalk VOIP service. |
Registering your PSTN with e164.org allows people using VoIP to call your PSTN and this will be translated to your VoIP details meaning that their call is VoIP to VoIP which is normally free for them.
They could just call you VoIP to VoIP directly but registering with e164.org just helps for those people who only know you PSTN. For people calling from a normal phone it does not help. MG. |
