Fax over IP
 

Been using voip and voxalot for a while now and I am curious as to whether it is possible to send a fax using a VSP. I was not planning on using a coventional fax machine for this as my use is only occasional. I was thinking that there maybe some software that can act like a printer from word or another application and direct the document over a voip connection. A bit like winfax that used to work with a fax modem. Anybody managed to get anything like this working?

My ISP has a service that allows you to send faxes at 3c each [up to 10 pages] to any fixed line phone number in Australia. Incoming faxes can be sent to an email address as attachments.

Thanks for the idea - I remembered a service I used to use about 5 years ago and it is still going. I was trying to find a VOIP solution when it is not needed. FOr anyone who is interested, the following service offers an email to fax gateway.
