Sipgate.co.uk tip
 

If anyone has been frustrated by *211 (sipgate.co.uk) not working here is a tip:

use sipgate.net (*8485) and prefix the sipgate.co.uk number/id with 44 and the number's area code.

E.g. *8485 44 aaaa nnnnnn or sip:44aaaannnnnn@sipgate.net

Substitute the area code for aaaa and the number for nnnnnn.

If anyone has set up a SIP broker alias for them self and used *211 it won't currently work. But if you change this to *8485 plus 44 and the area code, as above, it will work.

I see there are some old threads here about sipgate.co.uk but none seem to have mentioned this tip.

Of course, it cannot be guaranteed that this will always work.
