ProxyServer question
Hi all,
 Sorry newbie on board. I just have to ask this...what if an "alphanumeric" proxy server input such as: "fwd.pulver.com" or "fwdnat.pulver.com:5083" doesn't work as entries in my endpoint (softphone) but rather it requires/accepts only the "usual numeric" entries, example: "205.2.170.5"??? Is there a way around this? does fwd.pulver.com for example have a "numeric proxy id" counterpart??? How do I find this out? Thanks in advance for any replies! |

Usually you would run a tracert to find this... Go to Start>>Run, type cmd, and then type 'tracert fwd.pulver.com' on the command window |
Or even better, run
nslookup fwd.pulver.com |
Thanks guys!..or gals
Great! Got it!
..although it didn't quite work... i mean, I think its because the SIP Proxy IP and Outbound Proxy where different (although this seems silly) ...or maybe its the NAT thingie...or the STUN...thingie.. neither of which I can configure anyways... well...back to the drawing board...silly clients didnt tell me about those thingies coming into play later on...I would have just put in a "blank field"...told them the notepad was better... Anyways, thanks for the help guys!..and/or gals... |
