Site Update - SIP Broker Provider List

SIP Broker would like to announce new changes to its provider list page:

See here

The page now displays an up to date status for each of the listed providers (automatically managed by the system). We trust that this new feature will further help our members.

What are you looking at? It has a green tick.

Wow, it is real time - now it is green indeed :)

Yes it goes red if there are 5 unsuccessful calls in a row. A successful call then resets the count thus making it green.

We may tweak the thresholds from 5 to some other number over time.

Martin,

Does 'successful call' mean the call was definitely completed? I'm trying to call a subscriber on venus.vtnoc.net (*7716) but always get an immediate fast busy (all the ViaTalk peering codes are showing green). Is there any way I can access the status (reason) for the failure?

*507 northwest.switch.vtnoc.net northwest.switch.vtnoc.net
*721 sip1.manhattan.vtnoc.net sip1.manhattan.vtnoc.net
*7677 mercury.vtnoc.net mercury.vtnoc.net
*7716 venus.vtnoc.net venus.vtnoc.net

(I tried them all, just in case, but no joy.)

Ron

Only certain return codes increment the fail count. For example a 404 (not found) is not considered a failure as the number does not exist.

At the moment we do not store the status codes.

In this case, I know the number exists as it's reachable from the PSTN network and from other ViaTalk users (SIP to SIP).
