some teething problem..

Hello, I am registered to voxalot, i mean my ATA:) :) but still not being able to receive fully calls to my internetcalls.com account. The ATA/phone rings but no audio whereas the caller continually hears ringing tone as if not answered.
The funnt thing is my X-PRO on my laptop works well. So is it the issue with my ATA? I experimented with PAP2 and there was no difference. I now have another make which is Zyxel P2002. Any ideas from users of Betamax VSPs? Making calls no problem.

Hi,

Am I correct in understanding:

BetaMax DID ---> VoXaLot ---> ATA (does not work i.e. continued ringing)
BetaMax DID ---> VoXaLot ---> X-Pro (does work)

yes Martin

that true.

Ok here I have a theory. XPro under the covers uses a STUN server to handle NAT traversal.

I suspect the acknowledment messages from your ATA are not getting back to Betamax (hence the continuing ringing and one way Audio).

Are you able to configure a STUN server in your ATA?

If it does support STUN, try using stun.voxalot.com.au:3478

Also make sure your firewall is not blocking the outbound messages.

I tried both by enabling and disabling stun.It didnt work but works perfectly with sipgate.co.uk and voip.co.uk etc. I wonder how other users are finding Betamax VSPs via voxalot? Then again making calls by any VSPs including Betamax is working perfect.I think the problem couls be with Betamax or certain ATAs. Thanks Martin for your effort.

It is interesting finding. Well, I got my GSM Wifi Sip phone just configured and it works just fine. Including Betamax! I am sure it is to do with the phone adapter.By the way if anyone wants to know which GSM phone! The details can be found here. I must say firmware does need upgrading and one of their rep said it has to be updated by the manufacturer. http://www.gtek.com.tw/PWG-500.htm
