Official Wishlist?

hi, im just wondering if theres something like an official feature request thread?

ive red a lot of feature requests in whole forum, however never in a central place. perhaps this would also help our beloved admins to keep track of requested features and also avoid rerequesting a feature.

I would start with some feature requests ive red.

Call List / Log
Codec Controll for incoming calls
List of registered devices for an voxalot account
Voicemails as mp3 instead of wav (for instant gmail preview)
Extensions for voxalot accounts (subaccounts)
conference calls
Music on hold
Call recordings
Ring Back tone
Accessnumber to dial via voxalot account other numbers
Click to call
Voicemail Indicator
Provider Fallback
Fax Gateway
Manage Voicemails online
Forwards/Voicemail depending on inbound DID

I will categorize the list later today.

Cheers

Thanks for the comprehensive list. We make note of all features and enhancements requested by the community in our tracking system. Some of the items you have listed have already been delivered such as:

Click To Call (voxcallme)
Voice Mail Indicator
Forwards/voicemail depending on inbound DID (call forwarding rules)

Tony.

My guess is he didn't mean the incoming CLIP but the VSP the calls actually is coming from.
Example: If call comes in from [Provider xx] then forward to [xxx]...

Just a guess...

jep that was i meant with the incoming did. it would be nice to e.g. send calls to the business line after 18 h to the voicebox and calls to private line all through.

Isn't this only dependent on the actual calling number, not the called number? Or is there new options for the called number now?

Hi,

Voxalot has really become a great and helpful "tool" for my needs. But I miss three points which could be a general improvement (not only for my needs):

1) More flexibility in handling incoming calls:

-Call forwarding should be manageable per incoming provider (as mentioned already in one of the above posts).

-Number rewriting rules should be applicable per incoming provider.
Example: I have DIDs in several countries like Germany and France. If the calling party is shown in national format, I cannot distinguish who called me. E.g. 0172xxxxx could be a French caller in Ile de France (area of Paris) or a German Vodafone customer.
If rewriting would be possible, I could extend the local numbers into national format, e.g. Wengo (France) from 01xxxxx to 00331 or Sipgate (Germany) from 0172 to 0049172.

2) Speed Dial prefix '**' should be no more hard coded.
I cannot use the '*' prefix due to the ATA devices I use. I use 9xx numbers instead which I need to introduce individually in the dial plan.
I tried already to define a rule in the dial plan to rewrite 9xxx (I use the 9 prefix as it is not used here for other purposes like emergency numbers) to **xxx and use Voxalot as provider. But this does not work as maybe speed dialling is no more parsed after the dialling plan processing.

3) Call initiation by mail or SMS
The mechanism of web initiated calls should be extended to mail and sms. Of course, potential abuse should be avoided.

Best Regards,
Adrian

The main feature I'm looking for is VSP fallover. That is, if the call does not work through a particular VSP, it passes on down through the dial plan and tries another VSP. It would greatly improve VoIP reliability (and the Wife Acceptance Factor).

Virtual switchboard..

It would be nice to have to handle extentions.

Thus when calling voxalot, an automatic answering machine invite prompts for an extention.

The extension would be parsed and forwarding with usual forwarding rules could be applied.

In other words, this would be a conditionnal forwarding based on an extension entered.

The idea is the following, i have relatives and friends in serveral international locations and i do not want to make long distance calls from my office to call them (I don't want to get fired).

The idea is to call have a voip local number, register it with voxalot account. Call it, dial a password, then an extention that forwards the call through the most appropriate VSP/dial plan to the one or the other friend or relative in the one or the other country...

William
