Thinking of buying a Fritzbox.

Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a Fritzbox for more control of my VoIP systems. Does it have similar call connecting rules to that of Voxalot in that you can block incoming calls from certain numbers at certain times of the day? For instance will I be able to redirect incoming PSTN calls to my Voxalot account so that Voxalot handles voicemail or does it have a built in voicemail box in the PBX?

Can you see which provider was called and does it provide a full call history including incoming and missed calls?

As a long term Fritz!Box user I can proudly answer all your questions with YES! :)

Thanks Markus, I'm getting one later today, the 7140 model (it's what they stock locally), I very well may be calling on you later for assistance.

Just one clarification if you could, the voicemail, the Fritz has an inbuilt VMBox?

Yes, Fritz!Box has Voicemail.

Yes, with the latest Firmware update even my nearly 2 years old model, Fritz!Box 7170, got an inbuilt VMBox.

Just ran into my first problem.

I tried to upgrade the Firmware to the latest according to the Fritz!Box site and from that moment on I have been unable to connect to the internet using the Fritz!Box.

I have emailed support.

What was an exciting purchase has now, at this time anyway, turned into a somewhat frustrating experience! lol!

Connecting using my trusty old Netgear at the moment.

I am not quite sure how I managed it but playing around with the system I have managed to get back online with the latest firmware! :)

Okay so internet is up and running.

What do I need to enable to allow calls through?

I have attempted to dial the following...

Error in Internet telephony during connection with VOX# over eu.voxalot.com. Reason for error: Request Cancelled (487)

Error in Internet telephony during connection with SIPGATE# over 217.10.79.30. Reason for error: Request Cancelled (487)

Both calls were placed from x-lite which itself is working as I tested it connecting to the Gizmo conference rooms immediately after these two errors showed in the Fritz logs.

Calls placed to the FWD number result in a message which says "Please try again later. The user you are trying to reach is currently offline".

Is there anyway in Fritzbox to emulate the following Dial Plan?

_222. 1${EXTEN} Sipphone

Dial plans are rather basic. You can specify that calls to specific numbers, or all calls beginning with a certain prefix go via a certain provider.

Last couple of questions for now...

1) How do you divert an incoming call on your landline to your Voxalot voicemail? It won't accept SIP URI's in the "Call Dirversion" section.

2) Where will I find the VoiceMail box which comes with the FritzBox? I can't see it anywhere in the options, running the latest firmware for the 7140 Annex A
