EU & AU Clusters down

Your correct. Here too
So I switched us.voxalot.com server.

Saliesbuzz 09-29-2011 12:19 PM

Au server reponds to ping

This supposed service for which I have paid to be a "premium" member is highly functional when it works. The latter being the key point "when it works". It seems almost a weekly occurrence that the eu.voxalot server fails.

When I use the us.voxalot.com server I always have to specify a Stun server otherwise I get only one way sound.

It is a real pain to have keep changing settings in phone systems and software on a weekly basis.

If the service providers that Voxalot use in Holland and the US are so unreliable why not find some that aren't?

Also, as I have suggested in another post, the "service status" page on the website is next to useless. It is not difficult to set up a system that polls the active servers and, if there is a problem, runs a script that updates the service status. This would remove a lot of frustration for many users, especially when these service failures happen whilst trying to configure new systems!

It is sad that one feels that Voxalot cannot be recommended as a service

I did the same, changed the server to US and other settings. It's frustrating. I have suggested many of my friends to use voxalot and some of them already accepted premium service. Now they all call me and ask what happened with voxalot when a server is down.

Hi all,

The data center have reported networking issues with the EU server. A support ticket has been raised and is currently being worked upon.

I will keep you updated.

agsteele 09-29-2011 01:32 PM

Thanks for the update.

To be honest, I rarely notice any problems with the Voxalot EU clusters. But I agree that the US servers seem to suffer from one-way sound much of the time.

Would be nice to have a number where we can report a service interruption.

Today Martin was quick, thank you. But it would be really nice to have a number where to report the failure by sms or phone for quickes failure detection.
Thank you.

eu server is still dead!!!

Nothing works, whats going on?

audebruin 09-30-2011 10:29 AM

I still cannot connect to the EU server and unable to make calls from the AU and US server. I have a paid Voxalot account, please fix the problems!

martin 09-30-2011 12:47 PM

EU network has been restored. Apologies for delay.

audebruin 09-30-2011 01:33 PM

My problem with the EU server is solved. Thank you for the solution and status update.

Not working properly for me on incoming calls. I have used eu for months, and switched yesterday to us during the outage. Now when I switch back to eu I get no incoming, and if I switch back to us again everything works.

While switching to us is an easy solution at my current location, I also have a number ATAs configured for the eu server in another country (Brazil). None of them is accepting incoming calls--and obviously I am not there to make the switch to the us server.

If you need to do an update on an ATA at a remote location sitting behind a firewall, you may want to try a remote access log-in to the ATA using a computer sitting behind the same firewall where the ATA is located. You can use Teamviewer if there is sombody available to run the software there and read back or email the session ID and password.

TeamViewer - Free Remote Access and Remote Desktop Sharing over the Internet

toolio 10-04-2011 01:19 PM

Thanks, Kurun.

I'm already a teamviewer user, and I did what you suggested a few days ago--switching ATAs to the US server. However, I think I need to physically reset some of my equipment, unfortunately (as in, power on and off).

However, I can't get the EU server to work properly even in a location where I can access equipment. US works fine, EU creates problems with all incoming calls and sporadic problems with outgoing. Strange, since I had used EU for some time before the last outage. When I use the US server, everything works fine. I have not changed anything in my VOIP or network configuration here.

no incoming audio eu server

Hi toolio,

I experienced the same problems with incoming audio.
It seems everything is ok now.
You may want to try doing the same as I did:
undo the port forwarding setup, reboot your router and setup port forwarding again.
