Voicemail Issue
Hi Martin
I am experiencng a problem witht Voicemail and I'm trying to troubleshoot the source of the problem with limited success. I have a DID pointed to us.voxalot.com. When I call it and my eyeBEAM softphone is on, everything WORKS as expected. The softphone rings the expected number of seconds and then the call goes to voicemail. Now, when I call the DID with the softphone off. The results are inconsistent. 1. Sometimes it goes straight to Voicemail 2. Sometimes it rings a few times then goes to voicemail 3. Sometimes it just keeps ringing and I never seem to reach voicemail 4. Sometimes it gives a busy signal and I never seem to reach voicemail Now in case 3 & 4, I say "I never seem to reach voicemail", because although I never hear the voicemail greeting, my Voxalot Voicemail box sends me notification of a 64K (Blank) empty voicemail message. Do you have any idea what could be causing this problem? Thanks in advance for any help Richard |
I just realized I had a Hardphone connected to Voxlaot. I shut it off and now I'm only having # 3 & 4 happening. This is worst :-(

Hi Martin
It's DID World Wide (didww.com) Richard |

We were told that if they changed the server within the didww interface to the middle east things worked. As a test try making this change. |
Hey Martin
Thank you. I'll give that a try. Richard Quote:

Yes indeed they do work with Voxalot. They do forward the calls to Voxalot, but the problem I am having is with Voxalot Voicemail.
I'm trying the middleast server at DIDWW and see if the problem described above continues. I'll let the group know. Richard Quote:

DIDWW seems to work fine with a Voxalot account, using the test numbers on the Web Page using the USA server.
1) Call rings through as expected and stops ringing, when calling party hangs up. 2) If call is answered, 2 way voice communication is established (using G729 codec). 3) Call goes into Voice Mail if allowed to ring for the timeout period. This probably does not help you solve the problem you are experiencing, but perhaps it may point to something other than the DID from DIDWW. Might be worth trying another DID, like perhaps one from IPKall, and see if you get the same behaviour. |
