Advance Dial Plans and "(" & ")"

Hi,

is there a way to replace "(" with "" in the advance dial plans.
It seems that voipdiscount doesn't like numbers which contain "(" but my address book contains brackets.

Thanks,
Patrick

What do your dial plans look like right now.... I am not quite sure what you are using () for....

The numbers in my address book (on my computer / phone) are like 1(310)8663212 or (310)8663212.

So the question is how do I use the dial plan to turn the number into: 0013108663212 without brackets?

Thanks,
Patrick

1. To the best of my knowledge there is no way to remove the (, however as long as your address book phone adds them automatically (it's not you typing them in) then you should be fine since it's likely the phone is dialing 3108663212 even though it shows (310)8663212

2. You can however add the 00 in front....In the pattern replacement field adjust ${Exten} to 00${Exten}....

Hope that helps...

My phone syncs with Outlook and Outlook does add the () to the number.... so I am not fine...

Could this be a feature request please to add the ability to remove characters with advanced dial plans?

Thanks,
Patrick

Personally I think it should be a feature request for Outlook to stop modifiying our phone book entries! It adds spaces, brackets and whatever else it 'thinks' we might want. Why does Microsoft always insist on being dumb enough to try and be so clever?

Sorry that is not being very helpful. It makes total sense for the entries to show up this way in Outlook and in my phone and it makes total sense that a dial plan in voxalot could use regular expression or something similar to remove "(", ")", "-", " ".
I prefer my numbers in outlook to look like +1 (310) 434-3484 instead of 0013104343484 as it is much easier to read. So where can I post this feature request please?

Thanks,
Patrick

I have a similar request - I would like to see the ability to filter alphanumeric values in the call forwarding section. This would give the ability to filter incoming calls by username in the from field.

Patrick, How do you use these numbers in your phone?
Is it a soft-phone you are using?
Voxcall (Firefox add-in) already has the capability to strip out non-numeric entries and spaces, and set up the call between 2 numbers, one of which can be your Voxalot account or Mobile.

No it is my mobile phone.
It really is a feature which needs to be implemented in voxalot directly and not in add-ons which aren't available everywhere.

What I'm missing is really a bug tracker (like Mantis) for Voxalot where we can do feature requests as I have no idea if the people responsible at voxalot even read these threads but for Voxalot to be able to become more and more popular it's important to add these small things.

Thanks,
Patrick
