uknumber.co.uk and Symmetric NAT
 
Hi,

I've recently signed up with uknumber.co.uk, which provides U.K. 056 DID's to be directed to a SIP URI, but was not able to get any audio incoming or outgoing (phone would ring ok, and unanswered calls would go to voice mail as expected).

After trying several different things, I turned off Symmetrical NAT and added a STUN server to my device (stun01.sipphone.com), and voilĂ*, everything works.

I am still not sure why this affected a specific DID provider, as I am also using ipkall.com and never had to fiddle with this parameter in the past.

Can anyone confirm that the STUN setting I'm using makes any sense, or should I simply dump this provider and go back to Symmetric NAT / no STUN.

it's working for me without any problem...must be something wrong with your ISP...

STUN and Symmetric NAT=No should give you better quality audio (see http://forum.voxalot.com/voxalot-sup...e-quality.html)

If you have no audio problems using these settings I would stick with them.
