Voicemail Email Subject for Threading
Howdy Voxalot Staff,
Would you please consider changing the voicemail email message subject to NOT include the message number? It may seem like a good idea to include the message number in the subject but really I think it isn't because: 1) it doesn't really mean anything (was this message 3 from yesterday or today), and 2) it messes up message threading in email clients. The latter reason is the main one, for me at least, since I thread my email and get voicemail messages grouped by their message number. Grouping all message 3s is not very useful! ;-) I think the date/time received (as recorded in the email header) is the best way to distinguish voicemail emails. So a simple subject like "[PBX]: New message in mailbox XXXXXX" would be my preference. This would group all voicemail messages in one thread. Of course, in a perfect world every user could set their own email message string (possibly including system variables like message number). For your consideration. Cheers, Ashley. |
Voice mail message
Most email systems do allow some filtering.
Although the email header changes with the count, perhaps as a suggestion you can filter to a folder or assign a tag based on sender, and/or mailbox number. I currently filter my voicemail to a folder based on originating account, and sort by date. And yes, I do get a lot of "new message 1" subject line headers. cheers |
