Multiple connections to voxalot

I have a hardware linksys box at home and also have a softphone. Sometimes i like using my softphone and registration to voxalot works for both. Outgoing calls work too but incoming calls don't make the softphone ring

I was wondering if I should register to another port of voxalot or use another local port on my x-lite softphone?

What should help?

Thank you

You could try either....

I would suggest trying to register X-lite on another VoXalot port (eg.443), then making sure you have your router forwarding that port to the computer running X-lite...

It's a bit hit and miss when you are trying to run this behind the same IP since VoXalot sends the call to VoXalotNumber@YourIP and then it's up to your router to decide which device/softphone gets the ring...

Multiple registrations from the same account and the same IP cannot work reliably to gurantee each device will receive the ring. You might try a simple solution if you want the ring goes preferrably to your softphone. Set the registraion expiration time in your softphone to 120, and 3600 in your hardware. This way, most of the rings will go to your softphone, however, there is still a 1/30 chance that incoming calls will ring your hardware.

Another problem from multiple registrations is that, after you close your softphone, there will be a period of time that incoming call might not reach the hardware depending on when the last time your softphone and hardware registered to the server and when your hardware will re-register with the server.

The best solution is to get it done in a PBX.

I used to have both a hardware SIP phone (Siemens C450IP) and a software SIP phone (X-Lite) connected to the Voxalot server simultaneously, and they both received the call when someone was ringing me.

I have never tried to make two calls at a time, but I think that shouldn't be a problem.
